DON'T FORGET COASTAL CLEANUP! |
|
|
|
As the recreational season draws to an end…it's time to work together to improve this wonderful water resource. The Friends of Lake Powell are partnering
with the National Park Service to host a shoreline cleanup effort in conjunction with International Coastal Cleanup activities all around the world. Cleanup activities begin Saturday, September 15
at 8:00 at the Wahweap Picnic area. Lunch for participants is scheduled for 12:30. You can volunteer in one of five ways: Shoreline cleanup, boat shuttle service, graffiti removal,
highway cleanup or you can help sponsor the event. Call Diane Hansen at (928) 645-0229 to sign up or to receive more information.

The Friends of Lake Powell is a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the preservation of Lake Powell. We work hard to promote and defend
Lake Powell. To give political voice to the millions of people in the desert southwest whose livelihood depends upon this great water resource. 100% of our funding comes from tax deductible donations like yours. Our operating costs have increased significantly with the opening of our new administration office and the hiring of an executive director. We are soliciting funds to help us offset the costs of
establishing this new office and improving our communication products. To our many previous donors, we express sincere gratitude. If you have not yet made a donation, please take a minute and think about what
Lake Powell means to you personally. We would love to hear from you! |
